Is tarot cards satanic?

The Satanic Panic of the 1980s made this claim famous, but no evidence ever supported it. Tarot's iconic Rider–Waite imagery was created by Christian mystics in 1909 and is dense with biblical scenes like the Last Judgement. Satanism itself generally avoids tarot — the panic was about fear, not the cards.
