Is tarot cards haram?

Most Islamic scholars classify fortune-telling as haram, and tarot used for that purpose falls under it. If used purely as self-reflection with no claims of knowing the unseen (ghayb), opinions among contemporary Muslims vary. We respect that discernment: the deck itself has no worship attached, but your comfort and your imam's guidance come first.
