Tarot card vs playing cards

Tarot likely evolved from standard playing-card decks — Italian nobles added 22 illustrated trumps around the 1440s. Cartomancy with playing cards survives today (red suits ~ positive, black suits ~ challenging), but tarot's 78-card system carries far more nuance. Same ancestor, different depth.
