How many cards come in a tarot deck?

Seventy-eight, in two tiers: the 22 Major Arcana carrying the big life themes and the 56 Minor Arcana (four suits × 14 cards) carrying daily life. Oracle decks are different — they have almost any number of cards, which is why learning the standard 78 tarot set is way more useful long-term.
