Upright meaning
When the Devil appears upright, it carries the message of awareness of attachments or habits that hold you. This is the card flowing in its native direction — open the door it implies, and move with the energy rather than against it.

Reversed meaning
Reversed, the Devil reads breaking free and reclaiming your power. A reversal is not a punishment: it usually marks the same energy turned inward or blocked, asking for adjustment before motion.
